Wiltshire Council and its traders will be holding a number of markets across the county in the run up to Christmas.
The markets will provide shopping opportunities during November and December for a variety of gift ideas. They will also attract more shoppers to the area. The following market dates have been planned:
Friday November 25 (12noon – 8.30pm) – Devizes Christmas Festival, Market Place, Devizes.
Monday November 21 & 28 (8am – 5pm) – Additional Christmas Market, Market Place, Chippenham.
Wednesday November 30 (8am – 5pm) – Salisbury Street, Amesbury (in conjunction with the Amesbury Christmas Fair).
Monday December 05, 12, 19 – Market Place, Chippenham.
Tuesday December 06, 13 & 20 (8am – 5pm) – Bouverie Hall Car Park, Pewsey; High Street Corsham & The Shambles Market Hall, Devizes.
Wednesday December 07, 14, 21 (8am – 5pm) – Salisbury Street, Amesbury & High Street, Marlborough.
Thursday December 01, 08, 15, 22 (8am – 5pm) - Market Place & Shambles Market Hall, Devizes; Market Place, Wilton and Bridge Street Car Park, Bradford on Avon.
Friday December 02, 09, 16, 23 – Market Place, Chippenham; Phelps Parade, Calne & Central Car Park, Warminster.
Saturday December 03, 10, 17, 24 - Shambles Market Hall, Devizes, High Street, Chippenham & High Street, Marlborough.
Monday – Saturday December 19 – 24 (inclusive) – Market Place, Chippenham.
Councillor Dick Tonge, cabinet member with responsibility for markets said:
“It’s good to see the markets adding value to our local communities and providing value for money to the residents of Wiltshire, especially leading up to the festive period. The service is a key component of Wiltshire Council's promise to provide low-cost, effective services and to support local communities”.
