Conservative Wiltshire Council is running a programme of rural housing needs surveys. Many parish councils have shown a keen interest in arranging for a survey to be carried out for their parish.
The first pilot survey has already been completed for East Knoyle parish and we are currently in the process of reporting back to the parish council on the results of the survey.
The next surveys are to be carried out in September for: Steeple Langford, Limpley Stoke, Hullavington and Bromham.
The surveys, sent to your Parish Councils will help Wiltshire to:
Identify the relative needs and different priorities of local communities
Identify the number and type of accommodation that is required by local residents
Justify the development of a rural exception site when a need has been identified
Obtain the views of local residents on local housing issues
Measure affordability at local level.
